Cliff (Wolfgar) Kirchhoff is a Canadian Artist and Photographer born of German post-war immigrants. Originally exposed to photography in the old analogue days via a Pentax Spotmatic F, he embraced the digital format with the guidance and mentorship of the late Kenneth Hope, a well-known and respected English fashion photographer and film director.
Eschewing the popular aesthetic, Kirchhoff looks to capture a true collaboration between model and photographer by making each session an interpretive and personal portrait of the model, whether the face is in frame or not — individuality and personality can be shown just as honestly in a gesture or a pose, and that reflection, captured in pixels, becomes the highly personal yet timeless Art that stands in juxtaposition to the generic and the commercial —
Hence, “Revolution by Example” as a tag — a vision of making Art both personal and meaningful again.
Kirchhoff specializes in Fine Art Nudes, generally in monochrome, but with select pieces in colour.
The recipient of multiple awards and commendations, Kirchhoff has also seen his work published in everything from newsletters, newspapers, and galleries, to the esteemed “Best of Model Society Collector’s Companion vol. 1” as well as having his theatrical work published in Clem Martini’s book of plays, “Cantata & The Extinction Therapist.”
Cliff Kirchhoff is available for select commercial projects and portraiture sessions, and offers a variety of Fine Art Prints in limited quantities.
